Mel Washington – “Whiskey River”

Yesterday, Charleston native Mel Washington premiered the first single, “Whiskey River”, off his upcoming full-length album Feast or Famine with Charleston Scene. Today, “Whiskey River” has made its way onto all streaming services, and we’re happy to share it with you. Feast or Famine will be the first album release from Mel Washington since Houses was released back in 2013.

Over the past few years, while coming up with material for Feast or Famine, Mel wrote over forty songs. He then narrowed it down to the ten that he thought were the best, and “Whiskey River” is our first chance (other than seeing Mel Washington live) to see what he’s been working on. There are reportedly several more singles coming our way from this release soon.

Feast or Famine is a solo album, but several of Mel’s friends will be heard making guest appearances, including his former All Get Out bandmate Mike Rogers, Guy Turner from The New Frontiers, and Hunter Duncan of Yosef and Lion in the Winter.

Listen to the country-infused “Whiskey River” by Mel Washington below, and if you’d like to pitch in and help Mel wrap up the rest of Feast or Famine, visit his GoFundMe here.
