Abstract – That Rapper – “Mumble Rap”

This morning, Charleston hip-hop artist Abstract – That Rapper ventured out of Soundcloud and onto all major streaming platforms with a brand new single called “Mumble Rap”. With this track, Abstract makes it clear that he doesn’t align himself with the type of hip-hop that has become the norm in today’s scene (if you can even call it hip-hop). “Mumble Rap” is a strong entrance for a young artist like Abstract to make, asserting his own style and showing us what he can accomplish lyrically. The beat for “Mumble Rap” was created by Oleg Terentiev (drummer in Little Bird), with recording and mastering done by Matt Tuton.

Abstract will perform a string of shows in the coming weeks, starting this Wednesday, August 22nd at Big Gun with DD Allin. This Wednesday’s show will be the first hip-hop show that Big Gun has ever hosted. Then on Saturday August 25th, Abstract will perform at Bay Street Biergarten’s Back to School Bash alongside DD Allin, Sunny Malin, and Neintu. Continuing on through the end of August, Abstract will play a Charleston Music Confab showcase on August 30th at JohnKing.
