Wildisiak Gears Up for New EP with “Fish In The Sea”

After releasing a string of demos in late 2016 and playing a handful of shows earlier this year, Charleston funk rock four-piece Wildisiak dug in and got to work on some new material. They recently spent some time at Truphonic Studios in West Ashley, working with Bryce James of Atlas Road Crew and Walker Barnes of Moose Kick to record a new EP called Planet Funk. The new EP is currently scheduled for a September 5th release, but you can hear the first single “Fish In The Sea” today.

Keith Wildstein, singer and guitarist of Wildisiak had written a bare bones version of “Fish In The Sea” but wasn’t sure how to make it come together until he showed it to drummer Josh Cronin. The two messed around with the track and filled in all the gaps until they found the sound they wanted. Then they got the rest of the band together and recorded the track at Truphonic, with Walker Barnes sitting in on sax and backup vocals.

Planet Funk as a whole spans across multiple genres including funk, rock, punk, and grunge. The band chose to release “Fish In The Sea” early because they dig the sound and they wanted to give everyone a taste of what to expect from the EP. “You can listen for a good time, or dive in deeper for a more personal, deeper connection, and that’s what I love about this song,” says Keith.

Stream “Fish In The Sea” by Wildisiak below, and get your hands on the full Planet Funk EP on September 5th. Keep up with Wildisiak on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for info on upcoming shows and anything else they’ve got going on.
