City on Down to Celebrate Single Release at Palmetto Brewery

City on Down is a relatively new act in Charleston, playing their first show last November at Crooked Crown. The band worked their way around the town playing acoustic gigs here and there until they were able to land full band sets at larger venues. With the June release of their debut EP and subsequent party at My Father’s Moustache, City on Down picked up a new guitarist in Alden Sayre (formerly Them Oh’s) and Rob Corrigan on bass, and they decided to hone in their sound toward alternative synth pop going forward.

With the lineup changes and discovery of their sound, City on Down recorded a new single called “All On You”, which will be premiering this Friday. That day it will air on 20 radio stations around the lowcountry, and that night band will play at Palmetto Brewing to celebrate its release. Tyler Boone will open. The show is free, all-ages, and dog friendly. The party starts at 6pm.

“All On You” is a modern, top 40 style song that parts from their debut EP’s pop-rock sound in favor of an upbeat, dance-friendly sound. They are in the process of writing music to be released on a future EP that will help them showcase the new sound that is geared to get their fans to the dance floor. I’ve included a stream of their Debut EP below. Head on out to Palmetto Brewing this Friday night to party with City on Down.
