Slightly Stoopid hits Riverfront Park on Friday, June 23rd

Slightly Stoopid will play Riverfront Park June 23 with Iration, J Boog, and The Movement for their Sounds of Summer 2017 Tour.

As summertime encroaches upon us, so does rock-reggae virtuoso Slightly Stoopid’s annual summer tour! The Ocean Beach, California-based perennial summer amphitheater act, will be bringing their Sounds Of Summer tour to 40 cities and 4 countries this summer including a stop in North Charleston, SC at Riverfront Park on Friday, June 23rd with support from Iration, J Boog, and The Movement.

For those that have not seen Riverfront Park, it sits on the western bank of the Cooper River in at 1001 Everglades Ave. Last summer, Riverfront Park hosted Slightly Stoopid’s Return of the Red Eye tour, along with a stop from Rebelution. It is also home to the Greater Charleston Naval Base Memorial and hosts the FREE North Charleston 4th of July Festival.

Check out this drone video of Riverfront Park from Scoot Kings on YouTube:

After releasing twelve studio albums, including four live albums and their eighth and most recent album: Meanwhile… Back at the Lab (lauded for their multi-instrumental cross-genre blend of rock, reggae, folk and blues with hip-hop, punk, and funk elements) the band is still going strong. Performing alongside the multi-instrumentalists and founding members Kyle McDonald and Miles Doughty are drummer Ryan “Rymo” Moran, saxophonist Daniel “Dela” Delacruz, keyboardist Paul Wolstencroft, and trumpet and trombone player Andy Geib, plus special guest and “unofficial eighth member” Karl Denson on saxophone.
